Chocolate Banana Bread

Here we go again.. It’s time for some banana bread. There are so many different kinds and they are all so delicious. But, I believe, the most delicious is this chocolate version. I could eat this at breakfast, lunch and dinner! Come on, sacrifice your bananas to this recipe… I know you won’t regret this.. 😉

  • 1 ½ cup (225gr) all purpose flour
  • 1 cup (225gr) granulated sugar
  • 2 large very ripe bananas**
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) vegetable oil
  • ½ cup (60 gr) cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence or 1 bag of vanilla sugar (8gr)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (180 Celsius). Beat the eggs, sugar and oil. Mix in the bananas and vanilla. In a different bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Put the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and combine. Grease a standard loaf pan and put in the mixture. Bake for 60 till 70 minutes until a cocktail pick comes out clean or with some dry crumbs, but no wet mixture.

** If you do not have ripe bananas, but you are in desperate need of this delicious treat you can “ripe” your bananas in the oven for about 10 minutes on a temperature of 180 celsius.
