I looooove spicy food in all shapes and sizes! But not too spicy, that middle ground between an overwhelming burn in my throat that makes me feel like I am going to die or a little burn in my mouth that tickles a little. Somewhere in between those two I like my chili the best, maybe you do too so here’s the recipe!
Ingredients (for 4 persons)
- 1 pound (500 gr) lean ground beef
- 3 medium sized onions
- 2 large red bell peppers
- +/- 2 cups (400 gr) cooked kidney beans
- 300 gr uncooked rice (the kind you like best brown, purple, white…)
- 500 ml tomato sauce
- tsp curry powder
- tsp bell pepper powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- tsp chili powder
- salt en more pepper to taste
Cook the rice. Chop the onions and the bell peppers. Heat up a large frying pan and put in the beef with the onions and the bell peppers. When the beef is done you put in the tomato sauce followed by the kidney beans. Then mix in all the herbs and spices to give it that wonderful chili flavor. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes while you stir. Now it’s ready to serve with a portion of cooked rice.
